Swiftwater/Flood Search and Rescue
North Carolina has many Swiftwater/Flood Rescue (SFR) teams across the state trained to deploy statewide to assist in times of need. (See State Teams to the left).
Responders and rescuers in the state are trained and equipped to properly respond to flood emergencies. Teams can be pre-deployed with the needed resources based on the team's level of capability (Type I-IV). The teams also have several North Carolina National Guard Black Hawk helicopters with specially trained aircrew and rescuers available to them to use for water rescues.
